Independent guidance

Not tied to one company, so the conversation starts with your situation rather than with a product that has to be sold.

Every stage of life

Life, Medicare, health, home, auto, retirement and group benefits — the areas people usually have to ask four different people about.

One point of contact

The same person who set the coverage up is the one who picks up when something changes, or when you need to make a claim.

Why Fisher Legacy & Protection

One conversation. Multiple protection needs.

As an independent insurance professional, I help clients compare the options available across different areas of protection — instead of approaching every situation with a one-size-fits-all solution.

It also means you are not repeating your situation to four different people. The same conversation can cover the life policy, the Medicare question and the home renewal.

  1. Understand

We start with your needs, your priorities and your budget — not with a product. Most of the first conversation is questions.

  2. Explore

We review the options that are appropriate for your situation and explain, in plain language, how they actually differ from one another.

  3. Protect

You choose what makes sense for you. Nothing is decided in the first conversation, and no is a complete answer.

Who you will be talking to

Protecting what matters most — today and for the future

My name is Meena Fisher, and I am an independent insurance agent dedicated to helping individuals, families and businesses find coverage that fits their needs, their goals and their budget.

I believe insurance should be more than a policy. It should provide protection, confidence and peace of mind. As an independent agent, I work with clients to explore their options and help them make informed decisions without feeling pressured or overwhelmed.

Before you call

The questions people ask first

Answered here so you are not paying for them with a phone call.

What does “independent agent” actually mean?

It means the agency is not owned by, and does not work for, a single insurance company. A captive agent can only show you what their one carrier sells, so every situation has to be solved with that carrier’s products. An independent agent can compare options across the companies they are appointed with and explain how they differ. No agent has access to every product on the market, and any agent who tells you otherwise is overselling — the honest claim is a choice of options rather than all of them.

What does it cost to talk to you?

Nothing. There is no fee for the conversation, no charge for a review of coverage you already have, and no obligation to buy anything at the end of it. If you do take out a policy, the agent is paid a commission by the insurance company that issues it, which is how nearly all insurance distribution works. It does not add a surcharge to your premium.

Do I have to buy something if I fill in the form?

No. Sending the form starts a conversation and nothing else. It does not begin coverage, it does not change coverage you already have, and it does not commit you to an application. Plenty of these conversations end with someone deciding to keep what they have, or that they do not need anything at all — which is a legitimate outcome, and a faster one to reach with someone who can read the policy with you.

When can I make changes to my Medicare coverage?

Medicare runs on fixed windows rather than being open all year. Most people first become eligible in a seven-month Initial Enrollment Period around their 65th birthday, and there is an Annual Enrollment Period each autumn when existing coverage can be changed for the following year. Certain life events — losing employer coverage, moving out of a plan’s area — can open a Special Enrollment Period outside those windows. Missing a window can mean waiting a full year, and in some cases a late-enrollment penalty that lasts for life, so the dates are worth checking early. Confirm the current dates for your situation at Medicare.gov or by calling 1‑800‑MEDICARE.

How much life insurance do I actually need?

There is no single right number, and anyone who gives you one before asking about your circumstances is guessing. The usual method is to add up what would still have to be paid if your income stopped — the mortgage, other debts, the years of income your household relies on, anything you want to leave for education — then subtract what already exists, including savings and any group coverage through work. What is left is the gap. Working through that arithmetic together usually takes one conversation, and it is worth doing before anyone talks about products.

I already have coverage. Is there any point in a review?

Often, yes — and a review is not the same thing as a pitch to replace it. Policies are bought for the circumstances of the year they were bought in, and circumstances move: rebuilding costs, salaries, who depends on you, whether a mortgage is still outstanding. A review reads what you actually hold, what it pays and does not pay, and where a gap has opened since. Sometimes the answer is that your coverage is fine and needs nothing.

What happens after I send the form?

You get a reply the way you asked to be reached, at roughly the time you said suited you. The first conversation is about your situation rather than a product — what you already have, what you are worried about, and what you can comfortably budget. Nothing is quoted, applied for or signed in that conversation.

We do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information we provide is limited to the plans we do offer in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1‑800‑MEDICARE, or your State Health Insurance Program (SHIP), to get information on all of your options.

Build protection around what matters most.

Options differ by state.

A sentence is plenty. What prompted this, or what you already have in place.

Submitting this form does not bind you to purchase insurance or a financial product, and it does not begin or change coverage. Product availability and eligibility vary by carrier, state and individual circumstances.
