Final Expense

Simple protection designed to help families prepare for end-of-life expenses.

Final expense coverage is a small permanent life policy meant to do one job: put money in a family’s hands quickly, at the point where they are arranging a funeral and settling last accounts. Face amounts are modest by design, which keeps the premium affordable and predictable.

It is generally the most straightforward coverage to arrange. Underwriting is simpler than for a full life policy, many products ask health questions rather than requiring a medical exam, and some are available to people who have been turned down elsewhere. The premium is typically fixed for life, so it does not climb as you age.

The practical part matters as much as the policy. Naming the right beneficiary, and making sure someone actually knows the coverage exists and how to claim it, is what turns a policy into money that arrives when it is needed. We will cover that too.

What this covers

  • Final expense and burial insurance
  • Simplified issue coverage, with health questions instead of an exam
  • Guaranteed issue options where health history is a barrier
  • Choosing beneficiaries and keeping them current
  • Making sure your family knows the policy exists and how to claim on it
